This Light Therapy Electric Toothbrush uses three light modes (plus sonic vibration) to prevent, treat, heal, and whiten: Red light is clinically proven to heal gum tissue and prevent inflammation, blue light is clinically proven to kill bacteria that cause gingivitis and other gum disease and whiten teeth over time, and purple light setting combines the benefits of both.

Light therapy was discovered by a scientist by the name Niels Finsen almost a hundred years ago for which he won the Nobel Prize in Medicine. Light therapy is nothing new to healthcare - similar red and blue lights are often used in facial care to kill bacteria and heal/tighten skin.
